Pro Refrigeration lost a dear friend on Oct. 31 with the passing of Brian Sollenberger, founder of Diamond Knot Brewery in Mukilteo, WA. We were lucky to get to know Brian while working together on various projects at the Brew Pub and Production Brewery over the past decade. Brian was an incredible person that taught us a lot and will be missed very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and coworkers. Cheers to you Brian!

In honor of Mr. Roy Mills, Pro Refrigeration Inc. will be hosting a Retirement Party to honor 14 years of faithful service. Roy, and his wife Judy, will be retiring to their new home in Arizona. Everyone at Pro will miss his contributions as a leader, coach, trainer, and skilled technician. Roy was a great example to all of the team members. He prides himself on his work quality and has a work ethic that is second to no one. Roy will also carry the distinction of being the first employee of Pro Refrigeration to retire!*You are welcome to bring your kids but the celebration will unfortunately not have any activities for children and held on our production floor (Roy’s office). We will have potentially dangerous equipment and hazards roped off, but will need children to be supervised and kept from these areas to help prevent any unfortunate accidents .

When we see the special show cookies show up at the office (Jim’s wife Trisha makes homemade cookies for handing out at most of the shows), we know Tradeshow season at Pro is in full force! Although traffic has been predictably lighter than we’d like to see, we are very encouraged with the prospects encountered so far. We had a great time recently at both the Unified Wine Symposium and the Washington Association of Wine Grape Growers, special thanks to the new prospects and longtime friends and customers that stopped by and visited- we appreciate it very much. This week we will be at the Tulare Farm Show, with Bake Tech, “the Best Week in Baking”, the first week of March.

It is understandable why people are surprised to see how passionate we are about building refrigeration equipment (we sometimes wonder too). I think that makes it extra special when we read a story by people that recognize this, as well as share the same type of passion in their lives. We feel very fortunate to be part of Josh and Alexia Brewer’s dream of not just building a brew pub, but being ambassadors of beer to the Beaufort, SC region. These grand prize winners of Dogfish Head Brewery’s “What Dream is Brewing in You?” contest are also doing it right by keeping things “green”. We wish them the best of luck, it is exciting to be a part of helping them fulfill their dream.
